Up2U colleagues were present at the INTED 2018 conference
Our colleagues Mr. Iván Otero (UVIGO) and Mr. Dimitris Pantazatos(NTUA) gave presentations about Up2U at the INTED 2018 conference, which was held in Valencia, Spain 5-7 March 2018. INTED is one of the largest international education conferences for lecturers, researchers, technologists and professionals from the educational sector. It welcomes hundreds of experts from 80 countries from all over the world.
Mr. Otero was explaining a novel approach to the curation of open educational resources(OER), where an application-linked repository plays a key role as the integrator of the other components of an OER based e-learning service: Open Content Creation, Learning Management
System (LMS), and Data Analytics.
Mr. Pantazatos showcased the SelCont (Synchronized eLearning Content) toolkit which provides synchronized e-learning content (video and slides) from lectures, with minimal or zero post-processing effort and no special installation requirements from lecture rooms. SeLCont will be provided as a service in the Up2University ecosystem. Our Next Generation Digital Learning Platform will be implemented with Moodle and
SeLCont is integrated on this platform as a WordPress Multisite (a network of sites) via the LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) standard.
Up2U was also represented virtually, since Sapienzia University of Rome’s paper on the survey’s results that was accepted as a virtual presentation. This survey was focused on defining the key skills for the students of tomorrow, most of these skills are strongly related to digital literacy. The survey helped us define the Up2U skills, the skills around which the future steps of the project should be focused.
