Up2U visits Trondheim for TNC 2018

This year GÉANT’s TNC conference was held in Trondheim, Norway from 10 to 14 June. TNC is the most immense European research networking conference, with more than 650 participants from all around the world. This year, the conference was focusing on intelligent networks and cool edges.

Up2U colleagues had the chance to promote our project thanks to multiple presentations and a workshop. As part of the Future Talent programme, Ilaria Bortolotti (GARR) gave a lightning talk on the future of the schools, discussing how to bring schools to the XXIst century, and how can Up2U can help. Ilaria is one of “Borse di studio Orio Carlini” scholarship funded by GARR in the Sapienza University of Rome.
Mary Grammatikou (NTUA) presented the techno-pedagogical aspect of our learning ecosystem. Mary highlighted that our Next Generation Digital Learning Environment (NGDLE) helps students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to succeed in university.
In addition to these presentations, we organized a workshop to demonstrate the tools we offer in Up2Universe. Our colleagues Michał Zimniewicz (PSNC) and Allan Third (OU) joined Mary to introduce the Up2U ecosystem, the infrastructure behind the toolbox, the single sign-on service, the learning management system, web-based data sharing, the SeLCont tool, OERs, and browser-based video conferencing.
We are glad to say that all sessions provoked lively conversations and hopefully more and more countries will join us in the long run.
